During a long-term large-scale excavation, decisions regarding the preservation of archaeological monuments have to be made on an almost daily basis. This is particularly important in the case of MiQua, as the archaeological monuments are the real highlights of the museum. Their preservation and the design of a visitor tour that protects the monuments therefore have top priority. The lecture will cover the basics of statutory monument protection and international standards for monument protection as well as detailed solutions on the MiQua construction site.

This lecture will be translated into German sign language. The lecture starts at 16:00 and will be repeated at 18:30.
