Lecture by Juliane Au (Kunsthalle Munich, curator of the exhibition)
Hair has been telling stories for thousands of years. It is a sign of belonging, protest or self-assertion. Hardly anything shapes our first impression as much as our hairstyle. Using selected works, curator Juliane Au shows how artists use hair as an expression of personal identity as well as social expectations and attributions. At the same time, she provides exciting insights into the creation of the exhibition HAIR - POWER - LUST.
Juliane Au is an art historian and curator. She has been a project curator at the Kunsthalle München since 2024.
