Hamburg, 03.12.2025. Following the release of their EP "Bright Screen, Red Eyes, Science Fiction" in October, which was praised by critics, WALKING ON RIVERS are making an impressive comeback: the Dortmund indie project is now represented by a.s.s. concerts & promotion - and is taking off in 2025 with a fresh sound, new spirit and a live line-up in duo formation.

The former trio has now become a duo: David Laudage and Martin Kreuzer presented the musical result of their intensive songwriting phase 2024 live for the first time in October 2025. At the heart of this creative reorientation is a four-week stay in Oklahoma City (USA) together with producer Sven Ludwig (Fil Bo Riva, OK KID, Lina Maly, among others), who had a decisive influence on the sound.

Musically, the band has changed - but not strangely: deeper soundscapes, dancey arrangements and bold, unorthodox elements meet the usual catchy indie-pop melodies that characterize WALKING ON RIVERS. The production of their debut album (release: TBA) is already in full swing and the first audio samples are in sight.

The band has its origins in the heart of the Ruhr area - in Dortmund. Since forming in 2015, WALKING ON RIVERS have played over a hundred national and international shows, including renowned festivals such as Juicy Beats, Sound of the Forest, Traumzeit and Juwenalia Krakow. Radio airplay and interviews (including 1LIVE) followed early on, as well as funding from the NRW State Music Council and the Popakademie band pool - and all this long before their first official release.

WALKING ON RIVERS combine folk roots with atmospheric indie pop, polyphonic arrangements and a longing that is not just for nature, but for all those moments that break through everyday life. Their songs tell of nocturnal musings, fleeting escapes and small escapes - of life as we know it.
