What you can expect
Hike with members of the SWR Symphony Orchestra and chief conductor François-Xavier Roth from Stuttgart-Untertürkheim to the Grabkapelle on the Württemberg and enjoy first-class music in the summery atmosphere of the vineyards. Together with the two top-class soloists Isabelle Druet (mezzo-soprano) and Maximilian Schmitt (tenor), members of the SWR Symphony Orchestra will perform Gustav Mahler's symphony "Das Lied von der Erde" in a version for chamber orchestra. The composition was mainly written in 1908, Mahler chose as texts for the six movements, which are sung alternately by tenor and mezzo-soprano, adaptations of Chinese poetry from the T'ang dynasty (8th century) by Hans Bethge.

Procedure
The musical prelude will take place near the Untertürkheim cemetery. The walk continues with musical stops to the grave chapel, where the last part of the concert takes place. At almost all stops, drinks will be offered by our cooperation partners on a self-pay basis. You will receive your personal free drinking glass when you show your ticket at the entrance. You can take the glass home with you. Our partners also offer snacks for sale exclusively at the burial chapel.

Further information
- The hike is approx. 1.3 km long. The paths are paved but steep in places. A certain level of physical fitness is an advantage.
- If possible, please travel by public transport. Parking around the burial chapel and the vineyards is very limited, especially at weekends.
- In the event of very bad weather, the event will be canceled without substitution. We will inform you at short notice on our homepage whether the event can take place or has to be canceled. If the event is canceled by us due to bad weather, you will receive your money back within 14 days without having to take any action yourself.

We recommend that you bring
- Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes: Clothing with which you can manage a short hike.
- Sun protection and sun cream: The hike takes you through the vineyards on a (midsummer) afternoon, there is not shade everywhere. Please protect yourself from the sun.
- Seating materials if necessary: There are few or no seats at the individual stations, so please take a blanket or similar with you if you would like to sit on the grass at the burial chapel, for example.
- Rainwear if necessary: Use rain capes rather than umbrellas so as not to block the view of others.

Ticket Lottery As we can only hold this event with a limited number of participants, we are holding a lottery for the tickets. This is how it works: Please fill out the registration form at the bottom of this page. There are 2 different options, i.e. different tickets for 7 euros: - Option 1: Ticket for the complete "musical hike" with start near the Untertürkheim cemetery, end point at the grave chapel and various stops in between - Option 2: Ticket only for the last part of the concert at the grave chapel (without "hike"; start approx. 8 p.m., you will be informed of the exact time) Please choose your favorite from these two options. We will inform you at the beginning of May whether you have been drawn. If you win, we will send you an individual access code for booking tickets. A maximum of two tickets can be booked per person or per access code. You have 10 days from receipt of the code to book your tickets, otherwise your entitlement to the tickets will expire.
