"Christmas Scents and Glittering Lights" at Gohliser Schlösschen in Leipzig is an Advent event that is deliberately designed as an alternative to traditional Christmas markets. In the baroque ambience of the palace and its garden, the focus is not on trade and stalls, but on atmosphere, enjoyment and culture. Visitors are welcomed with home-baked sweet and savory waffles, roasted almonds and "home-made" mulled wine, punch and hot juices. The gastronomic offerings are designed to provide a manageable, high-quality selection and form the framework for a peaceful stay in the atmospherically illuminated baroque garden.

The format is expressly not a Christmas market: there are no classic market stalls and no sales stands with a typical variety of goods. Instead, a deliberately reduced, contemplative place is created that offers space for art, conversation and social interaction. This is complemented by a varied cultural program with choral music, instrumental contributions, communal Advent carol singing, tower winds, Christmas stories and other performances that vary throughout the event.

Christmas Scents and Glittering Lights" is open several days a week during the Advent season: Wednesdays to Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Sundays from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. At the same time, the "Art in Advent" exhibition in the arcades of the Gohliser Schlösschen invites you to visit. Sculptures, paintings, photography, prints and regional arts and crafts are presented there, so that guests looking for an individual Christmas gift can find additional inspiration. The overall result is an offer that combines culinary elements, pre-Christmas music and fine art in a historical ensemble, thus offering a quiet, culturally influenced alternative to the hustle and bustle of the city center Christmas market.
