Production by the Remskiesel theater group of the Unteres Remstal art school in cooperation with Kulturhaus Schwanen
With their production "Welt im Spiegel", the Remskiesel theater group brings a literary-satirical evening to the stage of the Kulturhaus Schwanen. Inspired by the legendary section of the satirical magazine Pardon, which Robert Gernhardt coined together with F. W. Bernstein and F. K. Waechter, the ensemble dives into a world in which the grotesque and poetry, laughter and reflection are closely intertwined.
The texts, originally written in the 1960s and 70s, unfold a new power in today's production. The biting commentaries, absurd dialogues and poetic tips that once caricatured everyday life in the Federal Republic of Germany seem almost clairvoyant in the mirror of our present day. The ensemble dares to question these satirical miniatures anew - and thus opens up spaces in which our own contradictions also become visible.
With subtle playfulness and a clear attitude, the Remskiesel explore the space between nonsense and truth, between slapstick and insight. The result is an evening that takes up the tradition of the New Frankfurt School, but at the same time looks to the future - an evening that confronts political seriousness with literary wit.
