In the organizer's words:

What does it mean to be "struck" by an image? A physical encounter, an emotional touch? Perhaps also a penetrating realization or injury, often sudden and unexpected. And do photographs touch us differently than other works of art?

Based on these questions, the exhibition in the Grafisches Kabinett of the Ludwig Forum sets off on a little finger exercise in looking at photography. The selection from the collection not only follows thematic lines on the borderline between documentation and artistic aspiration, but also the joy of rediscovering works that have long been hidden in the depot due to their high sensitivity to light and whose special power only fully unfolds when viewed closely in intimate togetherness.
