What does it mean to be "struck" by an image? A physical encounter, an emotional touch?

Based on these questions, the exhibition Wenn ein Bild uns trifft. Photographs from the Collection in the Ludwig Forum's Grafisches Kabinett (Graphic Cabinet) takes these questions as its starting point for a little finger exercise in looking at photography. The selection from the collection not only follows thematic lines on the border between documentation and artistic aspiration, but also the joy of rediscovering works that have long been hidden in the depot due to their high sensitivity to light.
