A story about sixty years of friendship, bar nights in East and West Berlin, annual immigration applications and the certainty of hearing each other on the phone at 10 pm today.
Birgitt and Doris met sixty years ago in a dining room, when Doris entered with a confident stride and Birgitt knew: "I have to get to know her". Or did their first meeting take place at the window, when Doris was sitting there smoking? It is a story of the deepest intimacy. A story of two people who conducted their relationship across the East-West border with weekly letters and who have been talking on the phone every evening around 10 pm for twenty years.
Based on this real story, a play about remembering is created. About moments that last. About closeness that outlasts everything. And about the question of how a feeling is sustained over decades - and what of it lives on in us today.
