Wildpflanzen-Entdeckungstour "Krautschau"

In the organizer's words:

Wild plants such as dandelions and plantain are often overlooked in everyday urban life or dismissed as "weeds". Yet they make an important contribution to the urban ecosystem: they provide a habitat and food for insects, improve the infiltration of rainwater, bind dust and pollutants, cool the environment on hot days and contribute to biodiversity.

The "herb show" draws attention to this: a nationwide participatory campaign around Biodiversity Day in May, which originated in France and England and is now also established in Germany. The names of wild plants are written directly on the ground with chalk to draw attention to their importance and impart knowledge about native species.

Under the heading "Leipzig blossoms", Ökolöwe e.V. invites you to a "herb show" tour in the south of Leipzig as part of Leipzig Nature Conservation Week. Let yourself be surprised by how much wild green sprouts between asphalt and concrete and what remarkable characteristics these roadside plant heroes have.

The meeting point is the House of Democracy at Bernhard-Göring-Straße 152. All interested Leipzig residents are cordially invited to take part in the entertaining wild plant discovery tour and get to know and appreciate Leipzig's wild greenery.
