Ida flees her small town - as far away as possible. After the death of her mother, she ends up on the island of Rügen with nothing but a hard-shell suitcase and a wind force 17 fury in her stomach. And without a plan B. There she meets Marianne and the local pub owner Knut, who take the stranded woman in and don't ask too many questions. Instead, they offer her baked rolls and a job in the pub. And then there's Leif, who is just as injured as she is. Suddenly everything seems a little easier...
