#6: Human Rights
In cooperation with Amnesty International
In a makeshift "kitchen for all", presenter Jascha Sommer cooks and discusses the state of human rights with Anja Mihr (political scientist, Center on Governance through Human Rights) and Vera Dwors (spokesperson, One World Network NRW). Afterwards, the audience is invited to a meal and discussion.
Human rights are considered universal - and yet they are under pressure worldwide. Authoritarian governments, economic dependencies and geopolitical interests threaten them; at the same time, traditional forms of human rights engagement and development cooperation are also coming under criticism. How can we fight for human rights today - without moralizing, but with political effectiveness? What responsibility do development organizations bear when they take on tasks in countries that should actually be carried out by the state? How do we fight for human rights - in the midst of contradictions, power relations and global inequality?
With Wir müssen reden, the FWT invites you to a series of discussions that sees the theater as a place of social negotiation - between experts and audience, conversation and a shared meal.
