Workshop: Kunst als Widerstand – Raum der Stimmen für Menschen mit Behinderung und Psychiatrieerfahrung

In the organizer's words:

Art as resistance - a space of voices for people with disabilities and experience of psychiatry

Onthe day of action on May 3, we will meet from 3 - 5 pm in the Great Forum of the Alte Feuerwache. There we want to design posters and banners together for Mad Pride , which starts on May 24. Materials will be provided and no prior knowledge is necessary. The workshop will be led by artist Amie Savage.

This workshop sees itself as a safe space to redefine art in the context of disability and the psychiatric experience. Instead of focusing on deficits, we look at life realities as an artistic process and political resistance.
Inspired by disability justice and mad studies, we examine role models such as Judith Scott and Yayoi Kusama. However, the focus is on exchange: we listen to each other and strengthen our community. Together, our voice becomes loud and our existence itself becomes resistance.

To ensure that we have enough space for everyone and that everyone has enough time and space, we ask you toregister in advance via the ticketing link. Participation is of course free of charge!
