Friday evening, somewhere between sound check and the last train home: the first people are already dancing, even though the support act has only just taken to the stage, someone calls for a song that doesn't even exist yet, and for a moment everything feels amazingly simple: That's exactly where the music of your dearest friends happens.
The four musicians from Mainz play indie and alternative rock that moves forward. Guitars drive, synths flash in between, and suddenly a thought in your head turns into a chorus that the whole room sings along to.
Their lyrics tell of that age when you realize that life has slowly picked up speed - and yet you still don't know exactly where to go. About days that go by faster than you thought, about learning to let go without immediately abandoning everything behind you, and about people who give you the right push again when you get off track for a moment.
Your dearest friends is less about big answers: it's about the little moments - the ones in which you lose yourself in dancing, in which you sing along to lyrics you don't really know and in which you take a deep breath from everyday life for a brief moment. And the feeling that sometimes an evening is at its best when you just let it go on a little longer, against all reason.
