LeipziXP e.V. has been organizing concerts for experimental music in Leipzig since 2018 - with a special focus on the local scene and on music that understands sound as material: real-time music, reduction, Wandelweiser, new music, EAI, etc. ZiXP stands for music at the interface between academism and underground, between serious music and DIY. A mixture that gives this festival, which is unique in East Germany, its unmistakable character - approachable and concentrated, alert and full of the joy of discovery. The audience can experience at first hand how music is created that defies the usual concept of music - and playfully opens up completely new spaces of experience.
The festival is both a meeting point and a laboratory for Leipzig's scene: around 20 to 30 artists come together in changing formations, experiment in mix & match formats, develop joint works and perform with the Ensemble Modèle Réduit - the house orchestra of LeipziXP e.V.
