On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the association Freunde der Galerie Waiblingen e.V. celebrates its 20th anniversary - with a special gift to itself and to all art lovers: the solo program "Meisterwerk" by Jakob Schwerdtfeger - a passionate, clever and humorous encounter with the world of visual arts.

The event starts at 7 pm, admission from 6:30 pm at the Kulturhaus Schwanen Waiblingen.

The Förderverein is celebrating two decades of commitment to the Stihl Waiblingen Gallery - with an evening that shows just how lively art education can be today. Schwerdtfeger, art historian and comedian, combines art historical knowledge with absurdly funny anecdotes from art history in his program. His performances are characterized by pointed knowledge, precise language and a great love of art. Instead of dry theory, there are stories that bring painting, sculpture and museums into the present day with a twinkle in his eye.

Schwerdtfeger became known for his book "Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst, und das ist Kunst" (2023) - a humorous declaration of love to great works and small errors in art history. After stints at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt and numerous awards - including the Grimme Prize - he now performs on stages all over Germany and inspires audiences far beyond the boundaries of the classical art scene.

It is not without reason that the press raves:
