With ZWEITER TEIL VOM ZWEITEN TEIL, the G2 Kunsthalle is showing a solo exhibition by artist Stefan Vogel (*1981) that redefines the space of the G2. Vogel draws on a rich collection of content: he interweaves and interlaces everyday materials, text fragments and photographs to create poetic, multi-layered works. Despite their origins in the artist's private life, the works develop a universal legibility.
The artist transcends the classic pictorial space of the canvas with his space-consuming productions, a multi-layered structure of language, image and object. He allows the floor, wall and space in between to become the resonating body of his multi-layered allegories about interpersonal communication, ambivalent relationships and self-reflective confrontations.
