Asian people in Germany and Europe are repeatedly the target of racist attributions, exclusion and violence. So-called anti-Asian racism often manifests itself subtly: in exoticization, stereotypes ("hardworking", "adapted", "quiet") or in the constant attribution of others ("Where are you really from?").

Using the "Asia Weeks" production as an opportunity, we will explore the historical and current dimensions of anti-Asian racism in this workshop. Using examples from the media, everyday life and institutions, we ask: What images shape our thinking? How does anti-Asian racism affect our everyday lives? What can solidarity-based action look like in concrete terms?

The workshop, led by Diane J. Pitzer from the Meltingpot Collective, offers a space for input, reflection and exchange. It is aimed at anyone who wants to deal with (anti-Asian) racism - whether for personal, political or professional reasons.
