The city library on Mailänder Platz is one of the most modern libraries in Europe and offers over half a million media, original graphics to borrow, a sound studio with e-instruments, the Buchkinder Stuttgart workshop and much more. The architecture by Korean architect Eun Young Yi fascinates people from all over the world.

With their up-to-date media offerings and personal support, the 18 district libraries are attractive places to learn and stay in the immediate neighborhood. WLAN, PC workstations as well as laptops with Internet access, copying, scanning and printing facilities are of course also available here.

Max and Moritz, the two library buses, are equipped with 5,000 media per bus. Moritz is available entirely to Stuttgart's elementary schools. Max goes to the kindergartens in the morning and to more than 20 stops from A for Asemwald to W for Wangen in the afternoon.

In the eLibrary you have access to Onleihe, Overdrive, press databases, reference works and knowledge portals. You will also find podcasts from our events, eLearning courses and the music streaming service Naxos Music Library: eBibliothek.
