From July, the venerable neo-Gothic church of St. Gertrud will become TRUDI, the Creative Cathedral. Since its inauguration, it has been a center of encounters. This is exactly what TRUDI will remain as the new heart of the Creative Campus Essen City.Nord, shining far beyond Essen as a unique art, culture and event venue in the best of company.

From as early as July 2025, there will be numerous opportunities to explore the location in a creative new way. These include the participatory project DOPPELHAUS by artist Pau Holtkamp and the OPEN CALL SUMMER SCHOOL FOR POLITICAL AND PLAYFUL EDUCATION 2025 by Transurban as part of the FISU Games Rhine-Ruhr 2025.

The Hochschule der bildenden Künste Essen is also already announcing its tour, the major exhibition of its art and design students, from 11 to 13 July 2025 in the Kreativ Kathedrale. From the winter semester 2025/2026, which begins in October 2025, many of the art school's courses will take place in the impressive rooms of the church.
