AŞ is the debut music album by TATAR KYZ:LAR, composed by allapopp and lyrics written by Dinara Rasuleva.

The show invites guests on a journey through childhood memories and futuristic visions – with translingual songs in Tatar, English, German, Belarusian and Russian, which reflects the immigrant background of the artists and their path to reclaim their languages and cultures. The show costumes take up on Tatar fairy tale Saq Soq – two brothers who were cursed by their mother, became birds, forgot their native language and their way home. TATAR KYZ:LAR interpreted Saq Soq as a story of the loss of one’s home, mother tongue and culture due to russification. That is also one of the songs on the album.

AŞ ist das Debütalbum von TATAR KYZ:LAR, komponiert von allapopp mit Texten von Dinara Rasuleva.

Die Performance lädt das Publikum auf eine Reise durch Kindheitserinnerungen und futuristische Visionen ein – mit translingualen Songs auf Tatarisch, Englisch, Deutsch, Belarussisch und Russisch, die den Migrationshintergrund der Künstlerinnen widerspiegeln und ihren Weg, ihre Sprachen und Kulturen wiederzuentdecken.

Die Kostüme der Show greifen das tatarische Märchen Saq Soq auf – zwei Brüder, die von ihrer Mutter verflucht wurden, sich in Vögel verwandelten, ihre Muttersprache und den Weg nach Hause vergaßen. TATAR KYZ:LAR interpretieren Saq Soq als eine Geschichte über den Verlust von Heimat, Muttersprache und Kultur durch die Russifizierung. Dieses Thema ist auch eines der Lieder des Albums.
