Comedians are running out of jokes and now lean on the audience for content. They mine every reaction, awkward silence, and accidental confession — all for internet clips that get scrolled past in seconds.

Audiences pay for a show where they’ve become the ones doing the work, like a self-checkout lane of comedy. Meanwhile, comedians rake in millions of views and tour the world off the back of the “common man.”

Reality-show mentality has taken over stand-up.

How did we get here?

I don’t know.But I’m hoping to do the same — with you.

Filippo Spreafico is a comedian and musician of medium height (175 cm), active between Italy and the rest of the world.He has performed on stages across four continents, from the Edinburgh, Melbourne, and Adelaide Fringe Festivals to the Comedy Store in London and the New York Comedy Club. He appeared on Comedy Central, Italia’s Got Talent, and Italian public broadcast Rai2.A surreal, refined kind of comedy — sometimes even off-putting, but damn effective.
