FRAMED#91 Shaping Sounds brings together extraordinary artists, British saxophonist and composer Emma Rawicz, double bassist Haggai Cohen Milo, drummer Amir Bresler, and Swedish sculptor Ricard Larsson. It will premiere at the Uferhallen in Larssons studio, a space that resembles a living sculpture.

This event marks the very first premiere of the Berlin-based, no-nonsense band LIGHTBOX, bringing together three leading jazz bandleaders as one collective. Saxophonist Emma Rawicz, bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo, and drummer Amir Bresler deliver a sound that is direct, dry, and unapologetic. Focused on groove and melody, their music is full of air and lightness, playing freely with space and form. Trust and long-standing friendship shape a dynamic flow of ideas that stretches and contracts in the moment.

Emma Rawicz is a saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, widely regarded as one of the most outstanding young voices on the international jazz scene. At 19, she released her debut album Incantation and toured the UK. Her ACT label debut Chroma (2023) received international acclaim and was named Album of the Month by The Guardian. She has performed in over 15 countries, received major awards, leads her own quartet, collaborates with pianist Gwilym Simcock, and works regularly with large ensembles and orchestras.

Haggai Cohen-Milo is a virtuoso double bassist and composer with a strong focus on interdisciplinary work. For over a decade, he has collaborated with choreographers and visual artists, composing for dance, theater, and film. A member of the Omer Klein Trio since 2010, he won the ECHO Jazz Award in 2018. He is the musical curator of FRAMED Berlin and has contributed to more than 30 albums.

Amir Bresler is a highly sought-after jazz drummer known for his energetic and versatile groove.
