Berlin also offers a wide range of sporting events beyond the major leagues throughout the year: Athletics meetings, cycling events such as the traditional six-day race, which takes place annually in the Uber Arena, and international competitions that put the city in a special state of mind for a weekend. Attending sporting events as a spectator has its own special charm: you are part of something bigger, you share in the excitement, you are completely in the moment for a few hours and then either overwhelmed or slightly disappointed, but definitely not bored.
