A cinematic documentary about Hans Reffert: born in 1946 and raised in the working-class district of Ludwigshafen-Oppau, he developed a penchant for drawing comics and jazz and skiffle music as a child. He learned guitar from Ludwigshafen's master guitarist Sigi Schwab, studied composition at the same time and quickly became a formative figure in the cultural scene of the Rhine-Neckar region. His music projects such as the Rock'n Roll Circus and the internationally acclaimed Adolf Wölfli program are legendary. In addition to touring with Guru Guru or the band project "Sanfte Liebe", his commitment from the turn of the millennium was to redefine political music through the "small electronic world orchestra" (ewo2), together with Christiane Schmied and Bernd Köhler, whom he had accompanied since the late 1960s at concerts and performances as part of strikes or concerts for the peace movement at the time, often in cooperation with musicians from the region such as Barbara Lahr, Laurent Leroi or Christl Marley.
The documentary shows the man who died far too young in 2016 as an exceptional musician, composer, guitarist and singer, as well as a cultural organizer and political activist, and features excerpts from concerts and actions from those times.
