Between mulled wine, Pinot Gris and indulgence: WEINachtsmarkt attracts visitors with arts and crafts, design and wine
From 13 to 14 December, the distinctive octagonal Wappenbrunnen fountain will be filled with the scent of cinnamon and Pinot Noir for the second time from 12 noon: family wineries, regional manufacturers and creative artisans, together with organizer Family & Friends e. V., invite you to enjoy stylish moments of pleasure by candlelight. Anyone who wants to celebrate the third weekend of Advent with style, taste and a good glass of wine is in the right place here at Ludwig-Beck-Platz.
Organizer Claudia Scholz is particularly looking forward to this winter WEINachtsmarkt here in Lichterfelde - after all, she grew up in the east of the district and still knows Ludwig-Beck-Platz as Moltkeplatz or Marktplatz. After the fountain was built in 1985, the square was officially renamed Ludwig-Beck-Platz at the beginning of 1986. The central column of the fountain actually makes it look like an oversized étagère consisting of three bowl basins, providing the perfect ambience for the culinary artisan markets of Family & Friends: "Fine spices such as cinnamon, clove, nutmeg or cardamom harmonize perfectly with the good wines from Germany's family-run wineries. Whether red, rosé or white - you will always find the right wine to accompany your Christmas menu, dessert or New Year's Eve. This is exactly what we want to reflect with our fairly new concept for the second time," explains Claudia Scholz.
The Jazz-Nikoläuse will be playing entertainment here at the WEINachtsmarkt. The three musicians of the Jazz-Nikoläuse play Christmas carols, swing and Dixieland in Santa Claus outfits with trumpet, vocals, banjo and sousaphone - and once again provide a musical interplay with the Jazz Police: this troupe is an ingenious mixture of marching band and improv theater and amuses with New Orleans music and improv shows with megaphone solos.
Many family-run wineries and young winegrowers appreciate the wonderful atmosphere of the Christmas markets in Berlin and are always happy to present their wines, produced with passion and know-how, for tasting. This time, these are the three wineries Holdenried, Zehnthof Eller and Christian Kupper from Germany's largest wine-growing region, Rheinhessen - known for its dry white wines. But the Koch family of winegrowers from Franconia will also be present with fine fruity wines with finesse, mature wines with style and elegance as well as Franconian gems.

The scent of roasted almonds and chestnuts hangs in the air, making it hard to decide what to try first. We recommend a selection:
Because honey is an essential part of Christmas baking, you should also make a detour to the Beefriends traveling apiary. Here you can get totally local honey from Berlin-Lichtenrade. Beekeeper Olaf Schwerdtfeger guarantees that it is 100% natural and is harvested exclusively by hand, without adding or taking anything away.
