The legendary drummer Jeff Hamilton is one of the great stylists of modern jazz. Known from the Ray Brown Trio and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, he has played with greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson and Diana Krall and can be heard on over 300 recordings. In the trio, he is accompanied by Japanese pianist Tadataka Unno, who quickly became a favorite of jazz legends after moving to New York, and the versatile bassist Jon Hamar. Together they combine swinging tradition and virtuoso interplay to create a top-class jazz evening.

Jimmy Greene was 6 when his father played him a Horace Silver song on the saxophone - the start of an extraordinary jazz career. Greene later played in Silver's quintet and on his last studio album. Trained by Jackie McLean, among others, he worked with greats such as Chick Corea and shaped his own sound with a warm tone and stylistic diversity. His latest album "As We Are Now" was released in 2025. At the Hildener Jazztage, Greene meets the WDR Big Band for the first time - as a soloist, composer, arranger and conductor.
