30. November: Kunsthandwerklicher ADVENT am Charlottenburger Karl-August-Platz

In the organizer's words:

When the city turns a soft gray at the end of November and the last golden yellow leaves fall from the trees, Karl-August-Platz around the Trinitatiskirche church in Berlin-Charlottenburg comes to life again on the first day of Advent: For one day, people will exhibit what they have created with their hands from natural materials such as wood, glass, fabric, metal or paper - with patience, feeling and the belief that special things can last. Family & Friends e. V. - the organizer of special art and wine markets in Berlin - invites you to its fourth Advent craft market.

Anyone strolling through the Advent market on the first day of Advent will hear the clinking of glasses, the rustling of fabrics and the quiet voices of people talking to each other. With the artists who have often been running their studios or workshops for decades - some in the middle of Berlin, others on the outskirts of Brandenburg. What they all have in common is a love for unique pieces, for something special, for something created by hand. And the conviction that sustainability is not a trend, but an attitude.

Between workbench and winter light

For one day, a small village of harmoniously decorated market stalls is created around the church - with subtle lighting, cheerful colors and inviting scents. Many here have known each other for decades from the city culture markets with their special flair. Others are new, bringing fresh ideas with them - and perhaps the amazement you feel when you discover things that are handmade?

Karl-August-Platz and Trinitatiskirche in Berlin-Charlottenburg

Karl-August-Platz is centrally located between Wilmersdorfer Straße subway station, Bismarckstraße and Deutsche Oper. The Protestant Trinitatis church community in Berlin is a colorful congregation in the middle of the Charlottenburg neighborhood. In addition to church services, there are concerts, readings and many other cultural events.
