42. Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg

In its 42nd edition, the Hamburg Short Film Festival calls on people to listen. Under the motto "Listening", it will be showing selected short films in the heart of Hamburg from June 2-7, 2026.

The sensitively curated program opposes contemporary dynamics of hyper-fast media consumption and cancel culture. Instead, it creates a space for mutual listening, questioning, enduring and negotiating - a filmic credo of empathy.

Key topics such as feminism, the political dimensions of waiting and voices from Kosovo and Iran initiate exchange. And while the industry comes together at the annual Industry Day, young filmmakers are introduced to the short form at the Film Academy Day. Visitors can look forward to panels, parties and a place to chill out and meet people in the festival center.

A visit to the POST festival center on Kaltenkircher Platz is always worthwhile: as the hub of the festival, you will find exhibitions, pop-up cinema, film screenings, festival café, club and much more here - open to all and much of it free of charge! In the completely rebuilt and redesigned post office halls and the large outdoor area in front of it, the public, filmmakers and the scene celebrate the short form together. Will you be there?
