Nominated for the Mülheim Children's Play Prize 2026: "heart head over heels" by Simone Saftig

She is a radish, or alternatively a soccer or a hen's egg, as she is bald. Zizi makes ample use of her imagination to deal with her mother's cancer. Where hair no longer grows, pictures are created. And so Simone Saftig, who in addition to being a playwright also works as a literary scholar and cultural journalist, has written an entire play about hair. A text that in large parts is also reminiscent of a poem. The fact that language plays an important role in it is particularly noticeable in the search for it. How do we talk about illness, fear and anger? Fortunately, the heroine still has "Hairy Wuschel" at her side, who gives her hope ... (Björn Hayer, selection committee "KinderStücke" 2026)
