With their legendary duet album in 1987, Carmen McRae and Betty Carter set standards for vocal jazz - full of virtuosity, joy of playing and emotional depth. Now a young, top-class ensemble is bringing this music back to life and giving it a fresh, contemporary touch.

The line-up brings together outstanding musicians from all over Europe, many of them members of the Bundesjazzorchester: Cansu Arat (voc), Lilli Kornhuber (voc), Benedikt Göb (p), Julian Grüneberg (b), Jacob Wagener (dr).

With sensitive interplay, excellent storytelling, improvisational freedom and a deep respect for the original, they interpret classics from the album and supplement the program with their own arrangements and originals.
