The workshop explores ways of translating poetry beyond the classic book page: between languages, media, art forms and species. How can translation be thought of as an extension - rather than a loss or betrayal? Can it be an expression of the generative potential inherent in poetry in particular? How do concepts of authorship, originality, authority and temporality change when translation is understood not as mere transmission, but as a creative act that transforms and resituates poems? What possibilities open up when translating between spoken and sign languages? And how do you translate a poem for a dog? "AfterWords |
