Albert Schweitzer: „Paix ou guerre atomique?“ / „Friede oder Atomkrieg?“

As part of the "French Weeks", a concert reading on Albert Schweitzer's "Peace or Nuclear War?" will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Hotel Silber memorial site. The Nobel Peace Prize winner addressed the world public on April 23, 1957 via Radio Oslo with his first of four speeches: In his "Appeal to Humanity", he warned urgently of the devastating consequences of nuclear armament and called for moral responsibility and active commitment to peace.

Quotes from Schweitzer's texts and letters form a dense collage. It shows a lively discussion about the path to a more peaceful world.
