Exciting side facts:
The lady of the house, Queen Elisabeth Christine, will walk through the palace in festive Baroque robes to match the palace interior. In Berlin's oldest surviving rococo hall, she will present a completely unknown version of her tragic life story.

She will show her guests a very revealing side that would certainly have astonished her husband, King Frederick II of Prussia. The staging of this session follows a fictitious idea that the spurned queen may not have lived as lonely, isolated and pious a life as is attributed to her by scholars.

Background: the marriage of King Frederick the Great, who was presumably homosexual, remained childless.

Frederick was imprisoned by his father after the execution of his best friend and was later married to Elisabeth Christine. After his father's death, the king no longer wanted to live under the same roof as his wife. He acquired Schönhausen Palace far outside the city and let her live there until her death ("hier sollst du schön Hausen).

The avenue leading from the city palace in Berlin Mitte to this lovely estate north of the city was named Schönhauser Allee after the palace.
