General Levy started the jungle hype in 1994 with "Incredible" and now tours the world's major stages, has half a million listeners on Spotify and makes music with Chase & Status, Fedde LeGrand, Serial Killaz and other greats of modern music. Today he moves musically between old school jungle and modern drum & bass, but also sprinkles in the odd roots reggae or dancehall track. The General is also known outside the genre audience,∞ an autobiography was even published in 2022, "Incredible" was featured in the comedy Ali G in da House and "Heat" in Flatbush Misdemeanors.

Basswerk Sessions (since 1997) and Junglegrowers Events (since 1995) are the most traditional jungle/drum & bass events in Cologne, which have mainly been held at Gebäude 9 in Cologne Deutz since 1999. The list of star guests at Tanz in den Mai and other Basswerk events reads like a Who's Who of the best genre artists (e.g. Congo Natty, D-Bridge, Noisia, Marcius Intalex, Dub Phizix and now General Levy) and, like the event itself, covers a broad musical spectrum within the genre.

Other special guests include Brian Brainstorm, whose tracks have also appeared on Serial Killaz, Jungle Cakes and Liondub, as well as Jungle legend DJ Freeze from Mannheim. The Basswerk crew around Heiner Kruse a.k.a The Green Man (TGM), Jumpat, MC Chevy and VJ Sehvermögen, who will provide the classic Basswerk visuals, will also be at the start.
