BAUBAU: Insights Tour | Kuratorische Führung mit Daniela Medina Poch

In this guided tour, Daniela Medina Poch, project assistant for Kerstin Brätsch's BAUBAU: A Playground for Children, provides insights into the development process of the play area in the Gropius Bau.

With BAUBAU, artist Kerstin Brätsch has designed a free play area for children in which more is allowed than forbidden. Created as a flexible environment, BAUBAU is continuously determined by the children's activities. BAUBAU is an integral part of the Gropius Bau and extends over several rooms on the first floor. Following the example of The Model - an adventure playground by artist and activist Palle Nielsen and journalist and activist Gunilla Lundahl, which was shown at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm in 1968 - the rules that otherwise apply to art venues are suspended here: Children decide what happens in this place, which develops into a space full of possibilities. BAUBAU thus playfully questions what a museum should be.
