»Bis ans Meer«. Lesung und Podiumsdiskussion mit der Journalistin, Moderatorin und Autorin Peggy Patzschke

Peggy Patzschke's novel "Bis ans Meer" is based on a true family story and connects the fates of three generations. The story takes us back to January 1945: in the freezing cold, Frieda flees Silesia with her young daughter while her husband is at the front. Both have promised to find each other again, but the events of that time leave traces that reach far beyond that moment. Decades later, Frieda's granddaughter sets off in search of clues and discovers a family secret that continues to have an impact to this day. The result is a moving look at flight, loss, love and the healing power of memory.

Peggy Patzschke, known as the first female presenter of the MDR Life Morning Show and working for MDR, Das Erste and 3sat, brings her many years of experience in media, coaching and pastoral care to this evening. The reading will be atmospherically accompanied by visual elements and musical contributions. Afterwards, a panel discussion will invite participants to exchange ideas, explore questions in depth and reflect together.

There will be a book table at the event, run by the bookshop "Der Bücher Ober". Books can be purchased there in cash or by EC card.
