Brasiers & Brassières: Ein literarisches Kabarett / Un cabaret littéraire

There is a fire, of course. But it is still uncertain whether this "Brasier" is a controlled blaze or a raging sea of flames. Some even speak of an inferno where violent passions or wars are ignited. Bras play a role in this. But which ones?

You will get the answers to these questions on the evening of "Brasiers et brassières", the fiery theme of the literary cabaret of the Réseau des autrices francophones de Berlin, which takes place on February 22 at the Lettrétage. The program includes texts inspired by this theme and written by various female authors of the network, as well as musical performances by Ann Gaspe and Rock élégant. The evening will be moderated by Neïtah Janzing, the current director of the network, and Delphine de Stoutz.

The evening will be in French, the texts will be available in German.

Ça brûle. Ça, tout le monde le sait. History does not reveal whether it is a controlled fire or an incendiary ravager. Ce brasier pourrait se transformer en foyer de passions violentes, de guerre. Or it could be placed in the body of a sick person, caught up in an unresolved crime. And what role do the brassieres play in all this?

You'll get all the answers to these questions during the soirée "Brasiers et brassières", the ardent theme of the cabaret littéraire du Réseau des autrices de Berlin, which will take place on 22 February at the Lettrétage. On the program, texts inspired by this theme, written à chaud by various authors of the network, as well as musical performances byAnn Gaspe and Rock élégant. Ann Gaspe (Agnès Guipont) is a Franco-Oberlin writer, musician and actress whose work
actress whose work is characterized by poetry and theater. In Berlin since 2002, the poet and singer has been involved in numerous theater productions and has worked as a co-author, musician and sound artist. She is currently working on a setting of the 24 Sonnets by Louise Labé. She is a founding member of the network of French-speaking authors Réseau des autrices francophones de Berlin e.V.

Ann Gaspe (Agnès Guipont) est une artiste transdisciplinaire (musicienne, autrice et actrice de formation). Installed in Berlin since 2002, her work is strongly influenced by poetry and theater. She has participated in numerous theater productions and has worked as a co-author, musician and sound artist. She is currently composing the 24 sonnets of Louise Labé. She is a founding member of the Réseau des autrices francophones de Berlin e.V.

Rock élégant is an all-female indie trio from Berlin. In their original songs, mostly performed in French, Quebec natives Elizabeth Grenier (guitar, vocals) and Karine Simard (bass, vocals) celebrate the power of existential humor. Japanese drummer Miho Shimomura adds a third voice that makes the garage-lofi sound of this band even more elegant. Their first album, "Tu arrives à point", was released in 2024.

Rock élégant est un trio indie féminin berlinois. Les Québécoises Elizabeth Grenier (guitare, voix) et Karine Simard (basse, voix) sont au cœur de ce groupe dont les chansons originales - pour la plupart en français - célèbrent le charme de l'humour existentiel. Le trio is complété par la Japonaise Miho Shimomura à la batterie, qui ajoute une touche d'élégance à leur son garage-lofi. Their first album, "Tu arrives à point", will be released in 2024.

Neïtah Janzing is a German-Quebek artist. After arriving in Berlin in 2019, she joined the network of French-speaking women writers in Berlin, with whom she realized several projects, including reading stages, events and text workshops. At the end of 2021, she founded the U8 Kollektiv with author Laurence ErmacoVa, a literary collective that aims to give poetry a place in public space. In 2022, Janzing was a resident at Stadt.Land.Text and in the artists' village of Schöppingen (North Rhine-Westphalia), where she wrote postcards to unknown people. The
Nature, memory, people and the foreign are among her preferred themes. Paper materials, photography, rituals and text work are her preferred means of expression.

Delphine de Stoutz, *1976, Évian-les-bains, France. Delphine de Stoutz is a
writer, dramaturge and literary mediator. She is one of the founders of the network of French-speaking authors in Berlin (abbr. Réseau des Autrices) and the "Hôtel des Autrices", an award-winning and internationally recognized Franco-German program for digital residencies and publications. Her first novel "Adult(R)" was published in 2018. Her work revolves around heterolinguistics, post-patriarchal language and literature outside the book. Delphine de Stoutz has lived in
2008 in Berlin.
