Based on the films shown at the Brecht Days, the historian Klaus Gestwa and the writer Theresa Hannig will discuss questions of Soviet technopolitics and environmental history in the period between the 1930s and 1980s. From a thematic point of view, the range of topics extends from the social revolutionary effects associated with the elimination of the agrarian way of life to the horror of the destruction of the foundations of life in industrial society, and from an aesthetic point of view from avant-garde cinema to science fiction films.
