Bridge Markland - Krug in the box

Expressively in full playback, Bridge Markland conjures a turbulent pop music court show out of the box. The court case is about a broken jug. Behind it is another crime: influential man molests young woman. Will young Eve accuse him? After all, the perpetrator is threatening to kill her fiancé Ruprecht in distant wars. Only he can save Ruprecht from this military deployment. And Hans Albers sings vividly "at Rocktown he's long since in his grave / and flowers are growing out of his bones." During the show, the web of lies becomes more and more transparent. A play for fans of classical theater material; for people who are curious about Kleist; for music fans who want to hear how pop music from the last 80 years fits in with Kleist. In rapid succession, the metamorphosis artist plays the village judge Adam, the plaintiff Rull, her daughter and fiancé, and the witness with and without hand-held puppets. The original texts, spoken by various actors, are accompanied by appropriate songs from across pop culture.
