or the failure of the complexity of the world
The world is on fire. But there is a man fighting and there is a man running - he wants to understand, intervene and change and in the end he fails because of his own demands. What now? Withdraw into the private sphere? Into nature? Into yourself?
Felix Banholzer 's new production is a poetic and angry performance based on Georg Büchner. "broken lenz" tells the story of a sensitive and intelligent man who despairs of the world and increasingly loses himself in delusion. Following the tragic story of Lenz, motifs from Büchner's life are negotiated and supplemented by personal experiences and questions.
What can we do when fascism and right-wing tendencies prevail everywhere, when neoliberal thoughts permeate the private sphere and video snippets and posts decide political elections? How can an individual behave? How to confront the complexity of events - give up or fight? Because before Lenz fled into nature - there was anger. A will to change. A sense of justice!
"broken len(s)z" ... and so he lived?
