A man, perhaps born in the wrong place, sets out to be free and independent: Tassilo, young and in love with music and men, wants to get out of the Rostock slab and into the freedom of West Berlin. Vacillating between despair and euphoria, he plans his escape. Because he no longer seems to be safe at home either: "Mother says she'll do everything she can to make sure my plan never works. Her declaration of war is crystal clear - not only as a mother, but also as a comrade."
It was like a miracle, but in 1986, at the age of just nineteen, this seeker and stumbling man with the blue eyes arrived at Bahnhof Zoo. Three years later, the Wall falls and he makes a discovery that changes his whole life...
