Germany is at a crossroads: do we defend our freedom or give it up?

Marko Martin appeals against autocratic temptations and describes his idea of responsible, uncomfortable freedom. Marko Martin and Norbert Krohn talk about the value of freedom, which is not mere happiness, but demands responsibility - in the sense of Manès Sperber: as a "categorical rejection of despondency".

In the midst of the exhibition "Tales of the Dark Days", the two reflect on the central questions from Martin's book "Und es geschieht jetzt. Jewish life after October 7": How do we want to continue living together? How can we ensure cohesion instead of division? How can we retain empathy for the victims of violence in political debates?
