In the organizer's words:

In this new trio, Fe Fritschi, Luca Müller and Antoine Duijkers explore the possibilities of combining
acoustic line-up, they explore the possibilities of combining European-influenced jazz with
Latin American and African currents. Original compositions and favorite pieces by Sivuca or Hermeto Pascoal, for example, as well as great playfulness and communication drive this fresh line-up to merge the familiar with innovation in a new way.
Luca Müller, born in 1997 near Cologne, began his instrumental training at an early age with lessons in classical piano and singing, as well as electric bass. After winning several prizes for young talent, he went on to take double bass lessons and finally studied jazz at the Folkwang University of the Arts. As a member of the LandesJugendJazzOrchester NRW and the BundesJazzOrchester
he has traveled abroad on numerous occasions and has worked on projects with several national and international stars. He was and is co-organizer of the Cologne Jazzweek and Jazzorama at the artheater and dedicates his debut album lucaxixi to Brazilian music. A strong adaptability and versatile musical language as well as an energetic, driving style of playing characterize his artistic work and make Luca Müller one of the most sought-after up-and-coming musicians on the German scene.
Fe Fritschi, born in 1994, first studied accordion in Trossingen, then jazz piano in Mainz. As a pianist and accordionist, he has already shared the stage with greats such as Colin Vallon and Norma Winstone. Active in his own bands and as an accompanist in a wide variety of formations, he is appreciated for his melodic original compositions, but also for his improvisational flexibility and willingness to take risks on both instruments. He is particularly interested in chamber music jazz formats, but also in unusual line-ups such as the Body Electric project, which released its first album in 2023.
Antoine Duijkers, born and raised in the Netherlands, studied jazz and pop drums at the "Hogeschool voor de Kunsten" in Arnhem (NL) with René Creemers, Joop van Erven and Joost van Schaik.
He completed his studies in 2010 with a Bachelor of Music. During his studies, he played in various musical projects in the fields of jazz, Latin and free improvisation as well as in interdisciplinary projects in combination with dance, theater and visual arts.
In 2013, he continued his percussion studies at the "Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln" with Prof. Michael Küttner, Dr. Rainer Polak, Dieter Manderscheid and Frank Gratkowski, which he completed in 2015 with a "Master of Music".
During his studies, he focused on free improvisation and African music. He undertook study trips to Ghana and Senegal, where he studied traditional Ghanaian Kpanlogo music with Mustapha Tettey Addy and traditional Sabar music with Doudou Ndiaye Rose. Currently living in Cologne, Antoine Duijkers is a musician within the Cologne jazz scene.
