The award-winning jazz collective Skyjack, consisting of some of the most sought-after jazz
jazz musicians from South Africa and Switzerland, will be on tour in April 2026 to release their
fourth studio album.
Each musician individually critically acclaimed, the sum of Skyjack is greater than its
parts. Shane Cooper (double bass) and Kyle Shepherd (piano) have each won the
coveted Standard Bank Young Artist for Jazz Award in South Africa. The
Swiss musicians Marc Stucki (saxophone) and Andreas Tschopp (trombone) are two of the most
two of the most sought-after wind players in Switzerland, who have experienced a dizzying
creative and professional heights over the years. Jonno Sweetman (drums)
joined the band in 2022 and is one of South Africa's most sought-after drummers.
Skyjack's sound is an absolute powerhouse, with all members contributing compositions written specifically for the

After their first collaboration at the festivals Jazzwerkstatt Bern, Switzerland, and
National Arts Festival Grahamstown, South Africa, in the 2012/13 season, Skyjack has
on tour every year since then, either in Europe or South Africa or on both sides of the
sides of the globe. The band recorded their self-titled debut album in 2015, which received
highly praised by critics. Their second album "The Hunter" was recorded in early 2018 in Maur
in Switzerland and was released on April 19, 2019 on Enja/Yellowbird Records.
