Ball-busting master: inside power at the Champions Slam at the start of the year. Poetry slam, the ill-bred stepchild of so-called high literature, comes to the Champions Slam in a suit and glittering evening gown. Because a champagne reception is the new bottled beer!

Four of the country's best spoken word artists present stage literature that at best invites you to laugh, cry, think and marvel at the same time. The special feature: only poets who have already won a championship title are invited to the Champions Slam in the Philharmonie. Or came damn close.

ANURAJ SRI RAJARAJENDRAN

Anuraj Sri Rajarajendran has established himself not only as a talented rapper, but also as a master of words in the field of poetry slams His lyrics are much more than just a play with words - they are reflections on identity, migration, social ills and the complexities of life. The highlight of his poetic career to date was his award as winner of the German-language Poetry Slam Championships 2024.

LISA PAULINE WAGNER

Lisa Pauline Wagner is a slam poet and theater director from Berlin. Three years ago, Lisa Pauline Wagner delighted the audience at the Philharmonie with her easily accessible, sometimes thoughtful and calm, but always entertaining texts.

Last year, she conquered the algorithms of social networks with excerpts from her book "So sieht's aus". In 2023, she won the Berlin/Brandenburg Poetry Slam Championship and soon after qualified for the World Championship in Togo (2024).

LUISE WOLFF

Luise Wolff is the newly crowned champion of Germany's biggest slam scene, North Rhine-Westphalia.

In her texts, the Cologne-based poet gets to the heart of topics such as justice, cohesion, change and everyday comedy - sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, always personally. She speaks with a mixture of realism, hope and subtlety about life, love, mental health, queerness and everything else that crosses her path.

MARVIN SUCKUT

Marvin Suckut can look back on over 1500 poetry slam performances since 2009. He has been living and working in Constance since 2010, from where he organizes and hosts his own literary events around Lake Constance. In 2012, his first book "Ich kann ja sonst nichts." was published by Tinx-Verlag. He won the Baden-Württemberg Poetry Slam Championship in 2025 with his humorous texts.

ORTWIN BADER-ISKRAUT (Moderation)

Ortwin Bader-Iskraut has set up some of the most important Kiezpoeten series since 2015 and shaped the Berlin scene as an organizer.

As a presenter, he hosts the big Best Of shows in the Columbiahalle, the Philharmonie Berlin or the Freiluftkino Friedrichshain.

Away from the poetry slam stage, Ortwin Bader Iskraut works as a reporter and concert critic for radioeins.
