Some songs you never forget - they stay with you, accompany you, grow with you. When Chesney Hawkes conquered international radio in 1991 with "The One and Only", it was more than just a hit. It became the anthem of a generation, a musical milestone of the 90s. Today, 34 years later, Hawkes is back! Born in Berkshire in 1971, Hawkes grew up in a real entertainment family: his father was the singer of the legendary Tremeloes, his mother was known throughout the country as an actress and game show presenter. So it's no wonder that Chesney began his career at the age of just 19 - when he played the lead role in the music film "Buddy's Song". This became a global success: "The One and Only", prominently featured in the movie, catapulted Chesney Hawkes to pop stardom overnight. The song remained at the top of the UK charts for five weeks - a sensational success with a worldwide impact.

However, his subsequent path was by no means straightforward. After his debut album "Buddy's Song" and the follow-up "Get the Picture" (1993), Hawkes initially withdrew from the limelight. He got married, worked as a producer and songwriter for others, composed for film and television - and for himself. Because he was and always remained a musician.

With the albums "Another Fine Mess" and "Real Life Love" (2012), Hawkes showed himself to have grown and become more thoughtful. As a mature singer/songwriter who has not forgotten his beginnings, but has grown as a person. Today he seems to have arrived, both artistically and personally.

His new album "Living Arrows" is therefore not a classic comeback, but a powerful new start. In collaboration with producer Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, One Direction) and long-term partner Nik Kershaw, a multi-layered work was created that tells of being a father, letting go and coming to terms with oneself. The songs remain true to Hawkes' pop roots, but are bolder and more profound - and were promptly rewarded: BBC2 named "Living Arrows" Album of the Week. Chesney Hawkes is also more impressive than ever live. Anyone who sees him on stage today immediately senses that this is a real entertainer who lives his music - with charm, wit and great musical skill, whether on the piano or the guitar. In December, Chesney Hawkes will be touring Europe for the first time in over 30 years! This includes four concerts in Germany - if that's not the perfect Christmas present.
