Cinema Neue Ziegelei

"Love, D-Mark and Death" (2022) & DJ Süperfly

in cooperation with the Turkish Film Days

We are showing the documentary "Aşk, Mark ve Ölüm" by Cem Kaya, which tells the story of the music of immigrants from Turkey in Germany - from the first "guest workers" to second and third generation hip-hop. The film sheds light on how musicians created melancholic Gurbetçi songs, socially critical songs and new pop culture and thus developed an independent musical heritage.

DJ Süperfly - who grew up in Munich and Istanbul - will provide the perfect musical backdrop. With his mix of Kurdish Halay, Arabesk, Anatolian & Arabian Psychedelia, Hip-Hop, Electro, Schlager and more, he creates a transcultural dance music experience full of energy and passion.
