Cornelia Parker (* 1956 in Cheshire, lives in London) understands violence and destruction as central moments of sculptural practice. In her sculptural and installation work, she combines deconstruction and redesign. She exposes everyday objects to forces that change their form and create new contexts of meaning. For the monumental Kesselhaus, she has created a site-specific, immersive installation - a huge fictional event with an immediate physical presence - based on extensive research into weather phenomena and the media and cultural history of their recording and archiving.
