BIG UP! On November 29th it's time again: Together with COSMO we celebrate an evening and a night with global pop and club sounds. Among others: LUIZA, Sami Galbi, Skuff Barby, Omar Jatta, Ms. Beji and the COSMO residents A-Lo and Daferwa.

Luzia: Laidback dub and reggae vibes. A smoky and chansonesque voice. Trippy and cuddly at the same time. With "Soleil Bleu", LUIZA has landed the big summer hit in France, Belgium and Switzerland. A little more electronic than she is used to. "Soleil Bleu" is a collaboration with the Dub-Duo "Bleu Soleil" A declaration of love to life, to freedom: "Let me live how I want" she sings in the hook. Luiza's music is next level chanson, French pop for the 21st century. She is playing her first show in Germany at BIG UP!

Sami Galbi: Clever, danceable, electronic beats and bass. Arabic lyrics, autotune. Dabke-inspired keyboard solos. Sami Galbi, Moroccan-born artist from Switzerland, beams the sounds of his childhood into the future. "My music plays with the folklore of Morocco and Algeria, with house, bass music, West Coast hip hop. I would call it Raï'n'B or Club Chaâbi". In his performances, it is important for him to be able to show off his body in a relaxed way as a man. Sami likes choreography, he likes to dance. His music is made for the dancefloor, but there is also a lot in the lyrics. It's about migration, about growing up in the diaspora. About living in different cultures. And about music as a unifying element.

Omar Jatta: Hip-hop. Afrobeats. With pop appeal and German lyrics. Somewhere between turn-up and deepness. That's Omar Jatta. When he's on stage with his homies, everything looks light and spontaneous. However, anyone who knows the Cologne native knows that he prepares for his gigs meticulously and with love. At the COSMO Festival in Dortmund in June, Omar Jatta hosted our Afrobeats stage, performed himself and provided some epic moments. Omar Jatta is an artist who can easily combine a sense of mission with the ability to party. We are convinced that he has earned a permanent place in the German pop landscape.

Skuff Barby: Street gig, festival stage or club? Two or two thousand people? It doesn't matter. Skuff Barby wraps every crowd around his finger. With booming drums, deep bass, German lyrics and a breathtaking performance. Their answer to the age of "social" media loneliness: everyone back on the dancefloor until reality can be felt all over your body again. Ever since we invited Skuff Barby to C/O Pop in Cologne this year, we've been fans. "The world is getting faster and so is the sound? Get over it."

Ms. Beji is a master of ceremonies. A magician on the turntables. A DJ who can tell stories without words. Together with her Dortmund-based DJ and producer collective Barulho World, she has been building temples of deepness on the dancefloor for a long time. Call it Afro-House, Afrotech, Amapiano or whatever. At Big Up!, Ms. Beji will be solo on the decks and provide unique vibes.

As resident DJ at the COSMO Club, Daferwa is our specialist for the dance floors of this world. Constantly traveling, constantly searching for new sounds. Every Friday evening he provides the COSMO Club feeling on the radio. Either he is at the controls himself. Or he makes room for DJ friends and colleagues from all over the world. Whether it's digital cumbia hybrids, Caribbean Perreo sounds, Amapiano or rave rags - the main thing is that it has to be bass and danceable.

Anne Lorenz aka A-Lo is part of the COSMO music team and a resident of the Cosmo Club. She is a passionate digger, a specialist in Latin American subcultures and celebrates her love of global sounds with various Cologne crews. In her eclectic sets, A-Lo doesn't stop at latitudes, genres or beats per minute.
